Sonia is an osteopath & clinical pilates instructor. She graduated from the Osteopathic Medicine course at Victoria University in 2012, then later went on to complete a Diploma of Pilates (rehabilitation) through Polestar Pilates.

She started her career treating many different patient demographics within a busy Brisbane clinic. After this 2 year stay, Sonia has been working in Hampton until now, where a move to the leafy east has brought her to Knox Osteopathic Clinic. 

Sonia has experience in treating a wide range of conditions and age groups. This includes the amateur athletes, weekend warriors, various postural syndromes, repetitive strain syndromes, children and chronic conditions. Sonia places a strong emphasis on holistic assessment and treatment, empowering the patient through physical rehab exercise and ensuring clear communication and patient education throughout treatment progression. 

Sonia has a special interest in women’s health and obstetrical care. Sonia has completed extensive professional development courses in managing the health of pre/post natal women, in addition to the exercise rehabilitation/pilates approach to care. 

Sonia is also very passionate about employing pilates principles in a clinical context to optimise physical function, strength, participation improvements and reducing vulnerability of future re-injury. Sonia is involved in the mentoring program with Polestar Pilates, mentoring current students completing their pilates certification.
